RJ exploded on the scene with some powerful mixtapes that seemed to hint at a new L.A. rapper to pick up the gangsta mantle. When NWA put Compton on the map, hip hop was a burgeoning genre where rappers mainly boasted about their own intelligence, called themselves “teachers,” as well as checked out ghetto life as something that made them victims–something to be overcome. Ice Cube took what Public opponent hinted at (but they terminated professor Griff) as well as brought it to the next level: Violence. From there, rap altered quickly, moving with the G-Funk age as well as the Snoops as well as Warren Gs as much as The Game, who is my personal preferred rapper in the southern Cali Gangsta mode.

So I had high really hopes for RJmrLA’s debut–because, frankly, considering that The Game, nobody has come close to the level of excitement, fiery smarts as well as witty rage of people like game as well as Cube.
